Tapestry Crochet Vulture Purse (for Right-Handers)

This homage to the unappreciated vulture is tapestry crocheted in rounds. Tapestry crochet differs from ordinary crochet in its texture, tension, and how colors are manipulated. Two or more colors are worked at the same time to create intricate or simple motifs. One is carried while another is worked over it. Tapestry crochet has the flexibility of crochet, but looks more woven than crocheted. The pattern for this tapestry crochet purse was published by The Inside Loop in 2008. Gauge is 13.5 stitches and 12 rows to 4 inches/10 cm on a J US10/6mm hook. (Left-handed version is available here-- Ed.)
