A lovely piece, very regular and graceful, yet easy enough for a beginner to attempt with confidence. Preece is thoughtful enough to provide both charted and written directions, so you can work whichever way you prefer. She adds, "This design features a stitch pattern that reverses at the halfway point. If you would like to use as much of your yarn as possible, weigh your yarn before starting in order to determine where the halfway point will be." But it's not made in two pieces-- the chart reverses, and it's beautifully explained. No specific gauge is given or required; block to your taste.
