There are greatcoats and Great Coats (or jackets), and this is the latter. Another design whose presence was accelerated by customer request, this piece is marvellously simple. It has drop shoulders and a short garter edge at the hem, and the (shaped with short rows) fronts have a 1 x 1 rib at the centre edge, which obviates the need for further finishing. Sleeves have a slightly rounded cap. This is a terrific pattern that's easy to make, yet combines the sleek and the rustic admirably well.
