Men's sweaters are tough. Many of them are too plain to interest a knitter much; but if you get too fancy, they don't usually interest the man. This one is quite perfect. It's in a large gauge, so it goes quickly-- and depending on the fibre blend, it would make a wonderful year-round sweater. You have a choice of round (crew) or V neck, and the raglan decreases are indeed given one stitch in from the edge, so you get the seam allowance and nice finish you see here. All the specified yarns but the Denim Chunky were introduced after this pattern, but should work beautifully-- just get gauge. A cardigan version, Sirdar 8324, is available here.
