Says Dempsey: "This is a very flattering hat. Choose either a diagonal knit/purl pattern or bold cable for your band; pick up and knit around, embellish with a beaded 'tassel' when you're done. Knit in DK or heavy worsted weight. 18" (20", 22") circumference at headband." Dempsey's design aesthetic is very simple, but very refined at the same time: this is immediately visible here. Depending on your yarn and colour choice, they could be great for guys too (perhaps without the beads or tassels?). They will never look old-fashioned, but always sleek and chic and beautiful.
