Sally Melville

2008

101 Cross-over-rib Top
WORLD EXCLUSIVE

This exquisitely simple top may be one of the most flattering things you'll ever wear. If your shape is more discreet than Pamela Anderson's, imagine it: curves outlined in this beautiful sweep of fabric with the wonderful deep V-front accentuating the waist (and the designer points out that it minimizes the tummy as well). Melville explains the piece's unusual construction in detail, and carefully outlines the sewing steps. Not the fastest garment to make, perhaps, but it is a timeless investment in your own good looks.

At 15 December 2008, a new version is available which incorporates two larger sizes than previously offered; see data page. This version is automatically available to anyone who has already bought it through their Pattern Stash. New buyers will get the latest version.

I think that the sentence on page 3 - which reads - Work straight, with wyif sl at beginning of all rows to 9 (10, 11-1/2)" from beginning, ending with a RS -- should say - end with a WS row. Either that or there is some information about a WS row missing

Don't hesitate to knit this up if you're full-figured: it's amazingly flattering, given the hourglass shaping and the pointed fronts. (I'm a 34DD and knit up the large size - it's a stunner!)
