Girly, not gooey. This is a lovely little cardi with enough edge interest to whisper one's femininity without a viewer onslaught. As such, it's pretty perfect for just about any girl. Armholes have a nice modest curve; sleeve caps are gently rounded; shoulders are slightly sloped. Nothing's exaggerated or overblown. You make the plain frills first and leave them on a holder; then make the lace frills and leave them on a holder. Place the lace frills over the plain ones, knit together one stitch from each, and that's it. Tons of fun if you've never done it; you'll use this technique for great effect in other projects afterwards. Click DK and Simply Recycled DK were introduced after this pattern, but should work perfectly-- just get gauge.
