What a joy to see an instant classic in a common weight of yarn. Here Drysdale starts with a very simple, beautiful, elegant silhouette and pairs it with a yarn full of life and interest. The result is an immediate essential. It's as formal as casual can get, or vice versa. The garment's sides and back neck are straight, and sleeves are set in. I-cord makes the ties; crab stitch (reverse single crochet) finishes off the front 'bands'. That's it, that's all. Yet this is the cardigan equivalent of a pearl necklace. This is Design 5 from Tahki's Fall/Winter 2006 book.
