Here Gaughan and Mills quote one another's design sense in practical pieces. Gaughan's cardi is emphatically Yankee in the rigor and appeal of its panelling; the cuffs are generous. Mills's adult piece (great for men too in the right colour, we think, and wittily Gaughanesque in its reference to natural forms) has both neck and shoulder shaping; sleeve tops are flat.
