Our daughter is 12, and this design makes us want to put a brick on her head and squish her so she could wear this. It's just so lovely. the silhouette is simplicity itself, with set-in sleeves and shaped shoulders. It's the combination of the gorgeous lace design (12 rows), the dainty single-button closure, and-- perhaps most meltingly-- the briefest of picot edgings that enchant. The edges are picked up and knit down or out from the cast-on body of the garment; there's one button loop (illustrations included), and you have a garment fit for a princess.
