Cranley: "This cardigan pattern didn't get its start from a knitting inspiration but was generated by a request for more little boys' patterns. It seems there is an abundance of little girls' patterns out there and I readily admit our maddy kids line is weighted in favor of the feminine persuasion. So we set out to get knitting something special just for a little boy.

"This little jacket, ready to knit in one of THREE sizes, ages 2–6 years, has easy drop-shoulder styling but its distinction comes with a reverse stockinette (stocking) striping on the collar and cuffs. Buttoned front closure and a lower hem edge keep it neat and tidy. This design would be equally comfortable in cottons or wools."
