Normally we mightn't like seeing a variegated yarn used in such an involved design. But here it works beautifully: the naturally evolving colours of the wool look perfect with the stitch patterns... like a natural landscape seen through mist. Everything is perfectly put together-- the all the bobbled ribs, the lacy vine cable (two panels of this on the back, too), the gorgeous shawl collar. There's waist shaping; the armholes are slightly cut in, shoulders are shaped, and the sleeves have a slight cap.
