"A close-fitting garment and has approximately no ease," says Porter wittily. This literally is made in two T-shaped pieces; after joining the shoulders with a 3-needle bind-off, you just sew the side and sleeve seams. The body fabric is worked in a ridge pattern, with alternating sections of st st and rev st st. Quite spectacularly easy (no sleeve caps to set in), and a huge wardrobe-enhancer in that it's fantastically textured, and easy to wear either over other pieces or by itself. Ambra's yardage (50g/80m/88 yards) is unusually good, giving you Italian yarn and design for a comparatively modest investment.
