"A simple cap, knit in the round, with a daintily beaded border lined with a facing," explains Neatby. "The hat motif spirals to the top of the crown." What is 'simple' for Neatby is a glorious little tutorial for the masses. It's a perfect introduction-to-beads project, since there are so few of them: 54 only. (They are pre-strung, not added with a crochet hook.) The facing is optional, and indeed Neatby provides you with a selection of variations, and kindly gives you all crown decreases in detail. A delight, and capable of all manner of appearances depending on your bead and yarn colour choices.
