Veronik Avery
2009
Shadow Rib Vest
Even in a field of fabric as brief as that in this vest, you can tell it's an Avery. The subtlety of the overall shadow rib pattern; the beautiful cut of the armholes, very British at the shoulder; and the confident distinction of the neckline (just rolling over slightly from the crossover) all display her utter command of knitwear design. Worked in the round to the armholes, then divided for front and back. Note that yarn is used doubled throughout (second gauge reflects this). Originally published in St-Denis Magazine, Fall/Winter 2009; worn by actor Marcel Jeannin.
