You look at this and see the gloss and the drape of the extraordinary yarn and think, "Silk." But it's 50% milk, 50% soy: Kollage likes to surprise. And Zimmerman understands the yarn completely. She has put together a beautiful, unusual combination of 5-stitch rope cables at the scarf edges and a combination of rope and branch cabling down the centre of the scarf (including selvage stitches, of course). The knits and purls are perfectly balanced, so especially in a yarn as soft and calm as this one is, there should be no biasing or edge-curling. Normal st st gauge for this yarn is given below, but note that it's after washing.
