Full disclosure: this is one of our favorite kids' sweaters ever. Ever. It's so full of texture, so rich and interesting and fun to knit, and so wonderfully attractive on a child (actually, Gitta, we'd like an adult version too). It will never date or stale. And it's got the great advantage of being so regular and decided in its patterning that it holds up-- 'reads'-- beautifully even in a yarn with a lot of interest (like the blue Buttons slub shown). Armholes slightly curved in; sleeves have a slight cap. How do we know all this? We made it for our son and had his first school picture taken in it. And we're going to make it again. "Greater love hath no man than this..."

I'm a little confused by the yarn requirement...The pattern lists 2 yarns. Are these alternatives? Or is it meant to be knitted holding 2 strands together throughout? I bought the pattern, but it doesn't mention holding them together. Please advise. Thanks for another cute pattern!

Oh, it's just shown in two different yarns. The taupe-y version (main photo) is the Naturelle 8 ply; the bright blue is the Magic Garden Buttons. Use one or the other, not both. And have fun!
