Michelle Porter
for Diamond Yarn 2010
1405 Boat Neck Tunic
WEB EXCLUSIVE
Glorious in conception, this is actually a very straightforward piece to make. The front and back are rectangles, and the sleeves almost so, but for a bit of sides-shaping as you work up. The lace pattern is 18 rows high and plainly written out. That's it. It's casual, but a little wicked too. You can see how you just divide the front basically in half to create the slit. There's no special edge finishing anywhere after you're done-- you block, then just sew the shoulder, side, and sleeve seams, add the button, and that's it.
