Ala Mode Scarf
WEB EXCLUSIVE

Start with the dropped stitches of the Ladder Scarf, add knitted fringe 'fingers', all your favorite accent yarns, and then felt it," says Bylsma. "Who says you can’t have it all! This scarf combines the fun of stash knitting and felting into a wearable work of art – yours! Don’t be afraid to add some color variations or striping as you knit since the felting process tends to ‘mush’ the distinction between yarns. Check the scarf during the felting process to untangle as needed and make sure the dropped stitches stay open. You may need to nudge them apart by hand when done. The dropped stitches add softness and flexibility to the finished scarf. Avoid using eyelash yarns in the fringe ‘fingers’ so they don’t felt together."
