Cranley: "I think it was a sand painting seen on a trip to New Mexico that inspired the motif of dancing ladies and the braided ties around their waists. This is a close-fitting sweater in a cropped length, accented with deep k2, p2 rib, a stand-up collar, and set-in sleeves.

"This pattern is a good introduction to charted color knitting as there are just two colors to concern you. Full instructions for the braided tie are also included. This is a great little sweater to wear with a pair of jeans and add a little 'folklorico' to your wardrobe."
