We are unused to seeing what could be considered elements of American sportswear in British designs, but just look at this piece. It's utterly relaxed, calm, and unfussy. It's body-conscious without being trendily tight. The only feature you're really meant to notice is the border encircling the body of the garment (picked up from the cast-on and front edges after assembly, and knitted out), and the cuff treatment on the sleeves (which begin with the lace). The long or 3/4 sleeve options are perfect for almost any season, and the overall effect is one of serene grace.
