Apparently Sirdar has 3 full-time dedicated knitwear designers on staff, and more than 17 pattern writers. We imagine them as a faculty, with different specialties and areas of expertise. Here the Department Head (Aran Studies) flexes textural muscles and uses 2 x 2 rib, reverse st st, diamond cables, and garter stitch to terrific effect. Shoulders are a pure drop, but the sleeve tops are shaped for a sleeker fit. There is one buttoned shoulder for easier on-and-off. This is a great style for boys or girls, a textural delight in the key of Aran.
