A-23 Holey Twists (Cuff Down)

Here is one of those great designs that is feminine and simple but interesting, and still looks great in a variegated yarn (hand-dyed or commercial, with a short or long repeat, as you can see). Ellis has added an extra grace note by simply extending one long lace motif down from the cuff over the instep; it adds a sinuous detail to the foot, and an almost elfin air. Twisted stitches are used to heighten the lace effect and give strength, good looks, and durability to the heel. Toe grafting is outlined completely in 6 clear steps. Lace instructions are completely written out as well as charted.
