Cable Embellished Hat
A soft but dramatic hat, with one cable motif only to embellish it, in order to draw deserved attention to the superb heathered quality of the yarn. It begins at the brim with a little 2 x 2 rib, then climbs into the reverse st st hat body. The top is faintly gathered, rather than closely shaped to the top of the head, the better to catch light and display the fabric's drape. Note that the fabric is worked at a slightly looser tension than usual for less stiffness. Cable patterning is all written out as well as charted.
