A checkerboard motif of seed and stockinette stitch starts off this cardigan that blossoms into rows of lacy flowers circling the front and back sections.

The cropped-length cardigan has set-in sleeves, crochet-covered buttons, and I-Cord edging for a neat finish. With a peekaboo effect created by the lacy flowers, this cardigan makes a nice topper over a contrast or coordinating color. Knit this pattern in a fancy yarn for a party garment, or in a fresh-colored cotton yarn for a sweet summertime cardigan.
