425 Lotus Shawl
WEB EXCLUSIVE

"This shawl or wrap was designed to show off all the attributes of fantasy yarns and make the most of every inch of them," avers Neatby. "An ideal stash buster and universally acceptable gift. It may be worked as shown or made in a smaller version as a neck warmer. It may be as glitzy or plain as you wish; the pattern is adaptable to many different yarn weights." You would think there wouldn't be much to it, but Neatby strikes again-- there's great attention to detail (for example, the piece is knit in garter stitch in two halves, but to make them match at the sides, one side is knit every row and one is purled every row). Wrapped short rows are used, but you don't have to knit the wrap. A spectacular piece, simple, but designed with the attention of a master tailor.
