If there is an adjective 'dainty', then shouldn't there be a whole word 'daint', too? This lovely cardigan is full of 'daint'. The making of it is quite straightforward, and yet the assemblage of the elements-- the bodice and sleeve pattern, the 'skirt' pattern, the little leafy edging at the hem, and the lovely border and cuff edgings-- is absolute genius. It's simple and direct and feminine and somehow quite regal. The body is made in one piece, and the sleeves (short or long) have a lovely cap for an exceptionally tailored fit. Gorgeous on any young girl of any age. British crochet terminology.
