A gorgeous little bolero, and yet it's startlingly easy to make. The type in the pattern is extremely large and the last page is more than half blank-- there aren't a lot of instructions here. And the pattern goes to the trouble of defining st st and 1 x 1 rib, too. All is calm and normal knitting and purling from the cast-on up, with the fronts gently shaped into a curve. Once your confidence and enthusiasm is high, you get the giddy fun of working the ruffle, which of course is only a matter of sharp increasing. We imagine babies growing into girls and having their holiday pictures taken in a different colour of this design every year.
