An excellent basic sweater, very suitable for beginners. All lines are straight except for the front neck-- it's a pure drop shoulder-- so there's no need to muck about setting in sleeves. The body hem has a st st roll; all other edges are done in a 1 x 1 rib. Depending on how long you work on the neck ribbing, it could be a crew or mock or full turtleneck-- it's entirely up to you. The original yarn is gone, but Stylecraft's Life DK-- especially in its tweed versions-- should substitute perfectly well (check with a gauge swatch).
