Ilga Leja
Lady of the Forest
"This wrap, evoking the mystery of the forest, is knit in a continuous flow of bias knitting until the collar and border are added at the end. Enhanced by the natural striping of a handpainted yarn, it drapes in different direction, when worn in different ways. It can be worn as a shawl, or, when sewn together, as a large cape or poncho."
-- Ilga Leja

My new favourite designer! I have returned to knitting after a break (three years of crochet!) and was looking for a simple but elegant pattern to get me started again and this has turned out to be perfect. I am currently knitting this in hand dyed wool, but imagine that it would work in a variety of yarns and weights if adapted. I will be buying more of Ilga Leja's patterns for sure.
