2 14 Karat (Cuff Down)
The designer says that this is "a cuff-down cabled and lace sock pattern (that) requires fingering-weight yarn and 2.5-2.75mm needles." But this entirely understates its impact and interest. It's a gorgeous pattern for a yarn subdued in colour variegation, sound and confident in its skill and classicism. The twisted stitches on the heel and toe are functional as well as decorative: they reinforce as well as beautify. This is written for both DPN's and the Magic Loop technique. Gauge changes control the sizing. First gauge is for adult small; second is for adult medium.
