A beautiful and unusual hat, gorgeous on men or women or larger children. Here also, Frankel has done a very wonderful thing. After the initial rib on the brim, a classic clingy 2 x 2, she has designed a crown that has no purling at all. The entire thing is knitted. There's cabling, sure, but no purling. In addition to making this easier for the knitter, it lends a marvellous fluid effect to the whole design, making the hat look almost sculpted out of sand by the sea, with no choppy purled bits breaking up the effect. Lovely. Cables are both charted and written out for your convenience.
