"Everybody was pestering me to do simple patterns," laughs Cranley. "In order to make it just a weekend's worth of easy knitting, I used a chunky yarn and a simple design. It can showcase a favorite pin or a simple scarf. This is a very, very popular pattern. No sleeves, no buttonholes..." Seaming is minimal-- just the shoulders and side seams. The schematic is very clear, there's sophisticated back neck shaping for a refined fit, and the armholes have a graceful curve.
