Gallimore describes her April 2009 Sock of the Month thus: "Complementary colours singing together in a faux fair isle pattern that reminds me of knots on a tree. Adding the crosses makes it tac tac toe (pun intended). Colours are reversed for the foot in the sample." Many artists have signature themes or motifs (even Keith Richards), and here the designer uses some of her favorites: the narrow cuff detail that announces the sock, the ankle band, the splitting of motif between instep and sole. SOTM members get the kit; otherwise, the pattern is only available here. Sock is meant to stretch somewhat; stretched gauge over pattern is 24 sts to 4"/10cm.
