Ingeniously easy construction and lovely details make this a classic, wear-anywhere shrug (though we always imagine Evelyn Nesbit in it). Knitted at a looser gauge than usual for this yarn, it has tremendous drape (gauge is given over double moss st). You make a long sleeve strip, then pick up around that to finish the body off; you pick up around the cuffs to work the lacy edging, and then that's it; both flat and circular work are involved. So there's no sewing, and you land up with a marvellous, timelessly-shaped jacket that goes with everything, feminine and soft. A crochet version is available here.

HI I purchased this pattern not realizing that the yarn is so expensive over $50 a hank and the small size uses 7 hanks and doesnt seem to be available any more either. Its knitted in 100% cashmere. I wouldn't have purchased if I knew before . Love the design though.
