This jolly sweater, fun and distinctive in two versions (one and two-colour), has an unusual lace pattern that-- to the imaginative-- can look like a cartoon animal face: a cat, or mouse, depending. Amusing for you and diverting for the baby, if he or she is old enough. It's a moderately easy one, 16 rows high. Pants and a hat (not shown, but with a single fillip of the lace pattern repeat; the pant cuffs sport a lace repeat as well) finish the ensemble. All are knit flat, to satisfy Commonwealth purists who grew up knitting this way. To fit birth - 18 months.
