Nicholas, constrained to design in one colour only, combined stitch patterns in a receptive yarn to catch light in almost every possible way. The result is a sweater that combines the best of many worlds. It's comparatively quick to make in an Aran-weight yarn, and it's fun and interesting to knit without being maddeningly complicated. Its back neck shaping and moderately set-in sleeves (with little caps) make it more tailored than many summer tops, and the overall look is just full of appeal. Classic Elite's new Solstice should replace the defunct Newport admirably. Print is smallish. If you want a mom/tot theme, this Sirdar Cardigan and Blanket uses the same stitch pattern.
