"I designed this lace to give the illusion of dimensionality, rather like the bellows on a concertina," says Erickson- Schweitzer whimsically. "This small accordion-like instrument mesmerizes everyone with its happy music and wavelike thythm as the bellows are pushed in and pulled out." Whatever its inspiration, it's a compelling sock with an unusual and lovely lace design, which even holds its own in a variegated yarn (as you can see). Lace patterning is both charted and written out.
