282 The Perfect First Knitting Project
WEB EXCLUSIVE
Judging by the title, Payson assumes cables won't frighten the inexperienced-- and why should they? Making a cable is just knitting stitches out of order, and beginners have been known to do that, albeit unintentionally. So why not make this luxurious vest, with its great split cable detail at the V neck? Applause was La Gran with a strand of variegated Fame run alongside it; make your own version with Desert instead of Fame, or you can use plain La Gran instead. You'll learn early that cables are simple, and that this really is a quick and good-looking project. Print is fairly small.
