The very simplest possible vests. A V neck. A crew neck. No waist shaping. No shoulder shaping. Armholes are fully fashioned (that is to say, the decreases for them are done on the 3rd stitch in from the edge). The welts at hem and neckline and armhole are neither too wide nor too narrow. This design suits men or women, Klingons or Cylons, or anyone who wants to speak for themselves and not have their clothes do it for them. Unless-- as in the case of the variegated example at right-- you really, really want to give voice to a favorite yarn.
