The Binary Hat

The number of people in the world who will 'get' this hat is steadily increasing, to our benefit. To a techie, the striped pattern here really does translate to 'hat'-- it's the most elementary computer code, and as witty as it is easy to make. Barcott is clearly in touch with her inner geek, and the pattern itself is very funny as well as very exact and engaging. The stripe pattern is both charted and written out; the ribbing basic (get it?) and attractive; the hat form itself as classic as it gets. An ideal first hat with an extra dimension of intelligence.
