This piece is indispensable, and utterly unthreatened by any whims of fashion and trends. It's one of those (too few) basic, almost completely plain, becoming, sincere, easy-to-make garments that you wear all the time, all year round. The natural st st rolls at the hem, cuffs, and neck are judiciously stopped from over-rolling by a well-placed purl row. The width increases very slowly as you work upwards. That is as fancy as this garment gets. Otherwise perfect judgment rules, as in the width and depth of the neckline. Short pattern; large print; bliss.
