Most knitters do other crafts as well, and often they long to combine their different loves. This pattern, including instructions for making the fabric skirt, is a wonderful opportunity for doing so. The sewing skills required are minimal (though a sewing machine does help), and the possibilities for matching yarn colours with fabric are enticing. The size range is very large-- birth to 8 years-- and the overall effect has a Beatrix Potter sweetness that suits almost every young girl at some time in her life. Quick, charming, and yet deeply satisfying to make.
