We are delirious. Until we came to post this piece, we had assumed it was a DK weight, which would account for the fine tailoring, delicate ruffle, thoughtfully Edwardian appearance, and so on. But it's a chunky weight! Unbelievable! And it has waist shaping and beautiful set-in sleeves and high caps and high-cut armholes! And it's so modern and classic and chic at the same time. And it's an easy pattern with large print, so all those looking to get someone else to make their knitwear for them have found a universal solvent. And you can wear it anywhere! A winner.
(Note: Heather C. pointed out that the pattern calls for both straight and circular 5mm/US8 needles to work the ruffle in one piece. In fact, Stylecraft has confirmed that you only need one or the other, not both. We would recommend the circular-- Ed.)
