For this beautiful piece, "a simple shell pattern that makes beautiful points on the cast-on edge is combined with an ocean wave on either side," observes Patterson. "The design is knit from cast on edge to the center in two pieces, which are then grafted together. Pattern includes 2 sizes: scarf and shawl." We have never seen a design quite like this; on the face of it, it's simple, and yet makes a very intriguing combination of lace stitches. The lace pattern is not written out line by line, so it's best to be familiar with reading charts.
