After its lovely, logical, easy-to-do round toe-- this one's knitted from the toe up, folks-- you motor smoothly into the Fishtail Lace (both charted and written; this pattern is about options), then up through the short-rowed-and-wrapped heel (with a Fish Eyelet Pattern on the heel itself if you wish-- see extra photo). The cuff is back to Fishtail Lace, and by then it's a doddle. This is a very beautiful sock constructed in an intriguing way. The Magic Loop one-long-circular-needle technique is possible, but not essential; you can easily work this on your favorite set of sock needles.
