Alfke's sly little pun (this stitch pattern looks very much like a series of eyes covering your body) sets the tone for the way the instructions are written. They are affable, comprehensive, and funny. In all her patterns, she provides wee asides that simultaneously amuse and inform; they seem to answer every possible question you might have as you're forming it. This type of garment is madly versatile, and as she points out, works beautifully on planes-- or in and out of office buildings where the A/C can be too strong.
