The cropped bolero is rapidly becoming an essential. It can make your waist look smaller, and doesn't take as long to make as a full-blown cardigan, and can add fashion zing to a plain wardrobe. So of course you need a lot of them, and this is a very good one. So much of today's looks are all about contrasting textures. The lace used here helps to create three visual elements on top: the bolero itself, the combination of shirt and bolero on the body, and the framing of the shirt. Armholes and sleeve caps are well shaped; the buttonhole is a simple loop. Garter stitch to finish the edges is very easy.
