This is just a rock-solid Northern hat, and not just for women-- if you move up to worsted weight (not DK), it should fit average-or-larger-headed men, too. The polar bear motif couldn't be more timely right now; make the background MC green, and you're waving the eco-flag with every turn of your head. Of course, you could reverse the colourway if you prefer brown, black, or grizzly bears. The earflaps are knitted flat, of course, and may be made single or double thick. A round or two of crochet finishes off the perimeter. From 2008.
