We love shadow knitting, and all the marvellous hidden/ displayed possibilities of it. Gutsy Fallone has used it to divide knitting humans into two camps: those who crave this scarf, and those who are afraid of it. Technically there's no problem-- there are nifty I-cord border edgings knitted in as you go, and the chart and instructions are clear. It takes 250 yards each of two contrasting colours. The only thing is... it's a spider. A big one. Five big ones, to be exact. Not that they shouldn't exist... and this would be a perfect present for Gary Larson... but it's spiders. We're just saying.
